LVN for Residential Treatment Center (Katy, TX)

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of adolescents who have experienced severe trauma and have emotional, psychological and behavioral disorders We are looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse who will be a part of the treatment care team for these girls and boys ages 11-17. The LVN will administer treatment and medication to residents that have been prescribed by licensed physicians or dentists along with other responsibilities listed below.
The hours for this position are: Monday through Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Responsibilties:
Keep medication files and maintain inventory of residents' medications.
Chart all pertinent information on residents' charts as required.
Admit, discharge, and transfer residents as necessary.
Perform tests, diagnostic work, and treatments as ordered by attending physician.
Coordinate medical appointments and follow through with physician's orders.
Observe and report symptoms of residents and notify supervisor, attending physician when a resident becomes ill or is injured.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
Possess a current LVN license in the state of Texas.
Able to work collaboratively with others, including co-workers and service providers/professionals to provide excellent care to the residents.
Demonstrate an interest in pediatric/adolescent nursing.
Valid Driver's License and clear driving record.
At least one (1) year of experience within a residential treatment environment preferred.
