Summary:
Highly skillful position requiring working independently. The available shifts are “swing shifts” Monday-Friday, with possible weekends.
Knowledge and experience of substance abuse/chemical addiction, mental disorders, phlebotomy, medication, and direct nursing care are highly preferred!
Requirements:
Current LPN license in the state of New Jersey
Prior experience with chemical addiction and /or mental disorders including pyschopharmcotherapy.
Prior knowledge and /or experience with regulations and standards including infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure.
Minimum 2 years experience working in substance abuse /mental health field.
Knowledge /experience with phlebotomy.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and maintain the medication cart for facility to include proper storage, ordering of routine and PRN medication to include stock and controlled substance corresponding to policy and procedure.
2. Assist with obtaining labs for clients to include proper documentation.
3. Filing all doctor’s orders, labs, and progress notes for all clients.
4. Dispense medication during shift to clients to include proper documentation of administration.
5. Monitor Infection Control Program of the facility with maintaining accountability of documentation of surveillance reports of exposure, conduct unannounced rounds of the facility to include infection control walk through to assure compliance of standard regulations.
6. Provide transcription of doctor orders for monthly MARS.
7. Ensure accessibility inventory and usage of emergency kits with weekly check points for prior usage and follow-up for all minor /major medical emergencies for compliance with quality assurance, infection control, and patient care monitoring.
8. Ensure proper disposal of all discontinued medications as per policy and procedure of facility.
9. Conduct routine unannounced rounds for clients during overnight shift.
10. Document and grade daily goals for clients and total points for each day to monitor client’s level system.
11. Review medical section for each chart for accuracy on a weekly basis Location: Kearny, NJ Compensation: $22.00/hour plus benefits and 401K eligible
