SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors and assesses heath related complaints of clients (based on the interview and physical examination) and triages clients according to immediate needs; carries out orders as stated by the physician; communicates with the physician as needed; properly documents client charts as required; assists clients in self-administration of medications; manages and inventories the medication cart and the medication administration records (MARS); collects specimens for submission to laboratories and prepares appropriate documentation; performs Mantoux skin test on clients and employees and interprets and documents results; attends groups, outings, or meals with clients as needed; schedules and accompanies clients for outside appointments; communicates with staff and attends staff meetings as required; other duties as assigned.
TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a High School diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited school of nursing, LPN program; current Arizona license as a Licensed Practical Nurse; one (1) year of progressively responsible nursing experience, with some experience in Psychiatric and/or eating disorders preferred; clean work record with the Arizona Board of Nursing is required; minimum of one (1) year experience in using the internet, Outlook, and Microsoft Word preferred; OR, any combination or academic education, professional training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION/CERTIFICATION: A current Fingerprint Clearance Card and CPR/First Aid certification is required; a current Mantoux Skin test (TB) is also required. Current Arizona license as Licensed Practical Nurse is required. A Clean driving history required.
