DESCRIPTION
Oversees aspects of individuals' health, scheduling appointments as necessary, charting various medical information, corresponding with medical providers regarding individuals' visits, and providing medical assessments quarterly and as needed. Assists in administration of medications. May be required to be on-call for authorization of medication or consultation to staff.
This job announcement is in Anamosa, IA. Hours vary depending on when needed.
DUTIES
• Administer medications in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
• Produce and maintain, as required by state regulations and company policies, records of individual care, condition, progress, or problems to report and communicate with Day CMA and medical providers as necessary.
• Provide oversight to Safety Committee of RCF and Community-based incident reports, medication errors, and physician visit forms.
• Order medications as needed in accordance with company policies.
• Complete nursing assessments.
• Complete new hire pre-employment physicals and drug screens in accordance with company policies.
• Inform individuals of test results or physician appointments as needed.
• Inform Administrator and direct care staff of any pertinent information.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Psychiatric experience preferred.
Certificates & Licenses
Current Iowa Practical Nursing license required. Demonstrated competence in license/certification skill set. Within the first 90 days, attend and pass all required training for the position. Attend any other training events as instructed by supervisor or if mandatory by agency.
Other Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age. Able to pass TB test, physical, and drug screen prior to hire and as required by regulation and/or policy. Possess a valid driver's license and current auto insurance. Satisfactory results on background checks with previous employers, criminal, and abuse registries.
