Position: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: RiverStone Health Clinic at Montana Women's Prison
Billings, Montana
Status: Full Time, non-exempt
Weekdays and weekends on rotation

The LPN provides direct care of patients on the ambulatory care team and functions as a part of the interdisciplinary treatment team under the direction of the Registered Nurse Supervisor. The LPN will be managing patient care in a team effort that involves clinical and nonclinical staff (e.g. physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, educators, front desk staff, schedulers, etc.) and interacting with patients to achieve stated objectives. Primary duties include assessing patient needs according to the inmate request process, answering patient questions, providing patient care, rooming patients, taking vitals and histories, giving injections, assisting with phone triage under the direct supervision of a RN or provider, assisting with procedures and administering prescribed medications. Successful candidates must be willing and able to successfully complete not only the RiverStone Health background check but also the Montana Women's Prison background check. The RiverStone Health Clinic at the Montana Women's Prison is located inside the prison facility at 701 South 27th Street, Billings, MT, 59101.

• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Montana in good standing;
• Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and their relation to medical and surgical practice.
• Thorough knowledge of public health principles and practices, preventive measures, and knowledge of community resources preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served.
• Ability to treat all contacts and information in confidentiality.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports containing findings and recommendations.
• Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks.
• Considerable patient care and nursing experience, preferably in a Health Department setting desired but not required; or any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
